Environment and human well-being: a practical strategy
Achieving human development while overcoming, rather than exacerbating environmental challenges – such as the degradation of land, watersheds and marine fisheries, deforestation, pollution, and climate change – is an immense but central challenge to humanity. Environment and Human Well-Being presents principles upon which each country can determine for itself the most appropriate steps to take towards achieving environmental sustainability.
As of Jan 1, 2007, the advisory work formerly carried out by the Millennium Project secretariat team is being continued by an MDG Support team integrated under the United Nations Development Program.
